1.9 to 2.0 Escort heads
Was wandering if anyone has tryed to put a 2.0 head on a 1.9 MOTOR. Ive heard all about the #4 intake seat droping out & making a mess, & have experiance with 2 different cars that dropped myself. I had them fixed & then #3 dropped out 8 months later on my 94 !! And #1 seat was the one one my 93...What a drag !! Whats the deal with the 91 -96 heads anyway?? Bad metal? Bad seats?? Well... Id rather put the 2.0 head on since I havent heard any bad news about them. I have two 97s and im prayen that they hold up!!

Re: 1.9 to 2.0 Escort heads
Since the 1.9 uses dished pistons and the 2.0 uses pop top, your compression ratio will be very low if you used a 2.0 head with 1.9 block.
Usally the valve seat's will drop if the head is overheated, it does'nt matter what head you use, if your having a cooling problem your motor wont like it. |
