350z purchase question

Whats up guys fellow Af'er here who just wanted to get some ideas.
I am sick of my Honda and priced out a new 350z. I am ready to buy one but wanted to ask a few questions.

Do the different trim level make a difference. Would getting the base 350z be ok? I see the enthusist version comes with LSD what does the base version come with? Does this make a big difference?

Also HID headlights on the enthusist verision. Does the base version have regualr headlights?

Does anyone have any of the NISMO upgrades? Such as the exhaust is it worth buying the factory upgrades?

Thanks to everyone who can help. The 350z forum is slow I see
thanks again.

-Brody

Re: 350z purchase question

Personally the Enthusiast is the best bang for the buck. The base is a good option for the person that is going to upgrade things like an aftermarket LSD. The Base does not have HID/LSD/cruise/homelink mirror

Ok so the LSD is the main consern of mine. It's best to have that I assume. Your right about the best bang for the buck. Thanks for your response.

I have the Enthu. Model and I love it. I heard one really bad thing about the HIDs. They are really cheap quality and break out fast!

Hey thats funny because I'm tired of my Honda too, although yours is alot newer than my own. I am also stuck with what model 350Z to get, but will most likely get mine toward the end of the year when I see if there are any changes between the '05 and '06 models. At first I kinda wanted the Touring for the power seats and the in-dash 6 cd changer, don't care about the Bose stereo have my own components waiting, but then I figured I would just get an Ipod and connect it to my head unit which I think will work out better. I would like power seats also but I dunno about leather seats- don't hate 'em but not a big fan. Also, if you go to Nissan's website they will send you a brochure on all the models and the differences between them. Lastly, with dealerships I have found, at least here in Cali., that you can get some of the best pricing by going through either the fleet person -or- the internet sales person.
Good Luck!

Yeah i test drove the car too, and its definately not a Honda. Its funny because I had not driven a manual car since my freshman year in college about 3 1/2 -to- 4 years ago and when I was done the sweet smell of burnt clutch filled the air around the car- still want a 6spd though. But it is a quick car, I mean compared to my car few things aren't. I hope that they change the models and include more options with fewer models- that will make purchasing a whole lot easier.

Re: 350z purchase question

^^Never see ya posting in the Honda forums?

Yea 6 speed it is. I set up an appt on friday for upstate NY (2 hours travel) they have 2 models on the lot.

Black 05 - Touring 34k sticker
Red 05 - Enthusiest 29k sticker

Gonna work this dealer and get those prices cut and hopefully drive home with a new Z this weekend. The invoice list of these cars is so different then sticker. Figure if I go in there working with the enthusist I can later see what he'll do for me on the Touring. I'm kinda feeling that leather option.

Yeah, I just started getting back into AF again, was really busy, but I occassionally post there. Usually when I look its like the same topics being asked/discussed or something along those lines. Good luck, I'm pretty sure if you talk to them long enough you will get a reasonable deal.

Re: 350z purchase question

$499 is a bit steap right now I am looking to also buy a house. The lowest they would go this weekend was $438 a month. So the deal is they are going to do a Northeast locate over a few days see what they can find that puts me in the 400$ a month range enthusist package of course. So when they give a ring I'll throw my car right up on ebay take the difference for the down payment.
