Tweeter Mounting
I'm thinking about getting a component set. I'm just curious to know where is the best place to mount the tweeters? I'd like to know how much of a mess I'm gettin myself into before I order them
I'm not going to go out and spend like $100+ on kickpods, b/c there is a lot more stuff I can buy for that much money. Its a 93 Accord incase you have sigs turned off...

if you got the skills, u can get some fiberglass molding and make your own kickpanels
as for where you mount your tweeters.......u mount it where it sounds the best to you. just don't put it near your ears. trust me it hurts at high volume.

There are three good rules to folow when monuting component speakers.
1. mount them as far twards the edge of the car as posible. This is done for stereo seperation. if they are like on your dash then it will sound crapy. 2. Mount them as far forward as posible. Open sounding systems also help the sound quality a lot. this will help the sound both travel to both sides of the car and also move the sound stage out from your ear so it sounds more realistic 3. dont mount your midrange and tweeter too far apart. maximum of 8 inches. if they are too far apart it will make the sound seprate too much. you want the midbase and highs to come from the same genral area, it will help the sound qualtiy a bunch. other then that have fun and be careful.

I dunno if accords have em but my civic had tweeters mounted in the doors already, just had to do some dremelling and slid them in the old holders. Instructinos with my RF components said less than two inches or more than 7 inches to avoid destructive interference. And if you can find a way to point them at your head that works best, I have ones that swivel and can be pointed in a large range of directinos, they face my head (note not my passengers head, my head)
