Question Blew trans fluid out overflow (vent tube) of trans?

I was driving in the mountains of TN and VA. Doing anywhere from 70-80 mph On the steep inclines straight up. There was alot of kickdowns. Was not using OD at the time do to the steep roads. I noticed a bunch of smoke coming from underneath, out of the back on one of the kickdown climbs, trans fluid even went on the rear glass and tailgate areas. Then it stopped less then a 1/8 mile. Stopped and checked everything out. Trans fluid was dripping from under the 1993 jimmy 4.3w auto. Fluid levels all checked out and everything worked fine, so I cont on my trip. It never did it again.
So what would cause this trans fluid blow out of the vent tube of the trans? Anyone else having this happen. Has only done it twice since owning this GMC. Other time was 8 years ago doing 85mph passing on a mountain. Ideas?

seen the same thing a few times, all all checks out, trans was just a bit hot from runnin the mountains hards, remember, tranny fluid is thin and bunch of little drops look like a ton of fluid. were you trailering? if so consider an aftermarket trans cooler inline with the stock one in rad. also running it in overdrive when you can if not trailering helps keep trans temp down by locking up totally and allowing the engine to also cool. i wouldnt be too worried.

Does your dipstick have the flipper on it?
Some of them were recalled because of dip stick.
I think the new type dipstick on them was changed over to the flipper type.

This post is from almost 5 months ago, and I hope that the problem was solved long ago.

Re: Blew trans fluid out overflow (vent tube) of trans?

Yeah, the same guy dug up a thread that I posted in 4 months ago, too. At least once a month, a new asshat comes in, digs up a bunch of old threads, and leaves... never to return again. Meanwhile, people trying to help, waste their time reading and answering threads that have long since been abandoned. It's really frustrating..... that's why digging up old threads is against the forum rules, (the ones that everyone is suppose to read when they sign up, but no one ever does.)

10-4 On that Blazee
I checked his profile and he has been busy today.
Averaged answering 10 post to day and they are all real old ones.
Maybe he is he is just practicing answering post.
He suckered me into answering that one.
I will check the date on original post next time for sure.

To be perfectly honest I never read the forum rules, but I try to use common sense
