Question noobi

i just recently aquired a 1989 N/A rx-7. im not all that familiar with rotaries, but the car sounds healthy other than the fact that the idle bounces between 15k and 17k and i loose power around 6500 rpm. ive already checked the idle speed control, checked the crack angle sensor, changed the igniter(not coil), changed the spark plugs, checked the distribution wires, and cleaned the throttle body. from what i understand, the previous owner had the car non operational for quite some time. the car also has close to 148k on it...any input would be highly appreciated

Re: noobi

a few things: did you change the spark plugs and wires?

when you say the idle bounces you mean from 1500 rpm to 1700rpm? and you get no power after 6500 (btw power starts dropping off soon after that anyway). you also need to check the grounds.

oh and lastly, know that dori dori is my nickname. biter :P
