98 S15 Jimmy 4x4 problem

I have a 98 s15 jimmy. When i have it in 2wd and crank the wheel al the way to either side and accelerate a decent amount there's a small clunking. When i have it in 4wd and crank the wheel all the way to either side and accelerate it feels as though something were rubing against the tires and restricting movment, but there's nothing hitting the tires. Does anyone know what this problem might be?

You might have a problem...

I had the same problem. You could check a few things. Your hub and bearing assembly may be separating. If this is the case your ball joints may be failing as well. Check the seals on your ball joints and make sure they aren't blown. To replace your h & b your will need to break the axle nut loose and partially remove the brake caliper. This can be fairly involved. As for the trouble of turning in four wheel, that is perfectly natural. The range of operation in 4wd is limited and you don't want to max it out it can damage your drivetrain. Hope this helps.
