Some help please......yea yea I'm new

I just got a 5 speed 97 red Honda Civic, I have done the body work I want to do now I want the speed. For someone with a low budget does anyone have any ideas where to start? I know I want a turbo, tubular headers, etc. I have a tip already on the exhaust, and a cool air intake but it is really shitty. If anyone has any suggestions where I can get stuff cheap.....I want to install it myself. If anyone can help me out that would be great! Thanks!

So you know... buying like a DC Sports header, and then getting a turbo will just be a waste of money as the turbo manifold REPLACES the header -- welcome to AF!

if you can install stuff yourself, i'd suggest buying stuff off ebay, you usually will save some cash, but then have no support when it comes to the install. If you're on a low budget...get an aem cold air intake, 2.25" cat back exhaust, lose the "tip" and get a free flow muffler (apexi, thermal, 5zigen are a few reputable brands, but there are many many more). From there, taht should give 10-12 hp...then save up and get your turbo kit...like someone said above...don't buy a header, as the turbo manifold will replace that. If you're mechanically inclined at all...take a look at www.homemadeturbo.com, save yourself a ton of money by building your own turbo setup.

Have a good weekend...

going turbo would mean you getting rid of the intake and headers.

If you are serious about turbo, buy a full exhaust with 2.5-3 inch diameter piping first.

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

maybe she means a universal muffler, my cousin and a lot of his friends call them that for some reason, and they always sound like ricers and confuse the heck out of me cuz i think they mean exhaust tip, not muffler and tip combo
