stupid noob question

So one day i'm sitting around watching t.v. and i come up with this stupid idea. Or maybe its not stupid.

During races, people rev up thier cars and then slip the clutch, what if you did that for every gear? When you shift, you press the clutch shift, raise Rpm, slip clutch.

So how stupid or smart is this?

Re: stupid noob question

I'd think that there was no point, you're just wasting time while shifting. Plus you're sending the clutch to an early grave

Re: stupid noob question

That's just stupid. Even if you were only slightly good at rev matching it would be a complete waste of time and clutch.

You'd have to be a complete manual noob to have to slip the clutch between every gear change.

Re: stupid noob question

Go ahead and do it... after a month your clutch will be gone.

Then you'll know why people don't do it.

I don't mean rev matching but just reving the engine up, sort of like launching your car in every gear. I know it will fuck up the clutch but at least i got an answer, i can sleep well tonight

you will chirp your tires, lunge forward just a tiny bit, and burn the hell out of your clutch

My friends done it in his passat...you attract attention, look like a moron, damage your car, and gain a fraction more acceleration if that
