Well i hope it was o.k to just push the piston back in without bleeding out the lines. But my next problem is, after installing the pads i can't slip it back over the rotor and the piston is in as far as it goes... any ideas??

Re: Brake ????

Are you absolutely certain the piston is in all the way? There are only a couple other items I can think of that would cause this. Wrong pads, wrong rotors or pads not totally seated in the calipers. If everything else is correct then they should go on properly.

As for the brakes, if you have anti-locks you should avoid pushing the old brake fluid back in to the system. It can damage the ABS components due to dirt being forced into the ABS system.

Re: Brake ????

if you look at the piston, it has two sort of grooves. The pad has little bumps that stick out a few mm. One of these bumps actually goes into the groove on the piston. My piston was twisted, so i took a screw driver and a rubber mallet, and rotated the piston so that the groove lined up with the bump.

worked like a charm.
