Spare Tire
Does the LeSabre come with a full size spare tire or a donut?

Re: Spare Tire
The '91 model came with a donut. However it was a higher quality than average donut - the owners manual said it was good for 3000 miles "so go ahead and finish the trip"... and surprisingly, there were no notes in the manual or on the tire about keeping the speed below 50mph.
Don't know about the other years. |

Re: Spare Tire
Yeah, the other bad part is, if you get a full size spare, it won't fit in the dounut hole in the trunk. It's too big. So, if you want any trunk space, you are stuck with the donut.

Re: Spare Tire
This always bothered me. My park avenue has one of the larges trunks you can buy in recent years, and its got the minispare. If you look under my car, theres room for the donut cavity to be dropped lower to accomodate a full spare. I've hauled 4 wheels and tires for that car in my trunk before. one by the backseat, 2 sice by side by the taillight, and one on top of those.

Re: Spare Tire
Had a flat today and had to put my donut on in the pouring down rain. It did okay at lower speeds, but it's a little squirrely at 70 on wet roads. Looking out there at it sitting in the driveway, it looks like it has a wheel barrow tire on it. I sure wish they would put full sized spares on them. The manual says that it will perform well up to 65 mph.

![]() It's a minispare, it's about 3/4 the width of a regular tire(if that). Of course it's gonna be a bit squirrely on wet roads at 70. You do that too much, and you'll have a blowout. At 70 mph, it'll be pretty hard to tell us about it from a hospital room. I'm not flaming you by any means, just trying to warn you and keep you safe!
