History Of The Buick
What are/ were the most popular buicks of the times? I remember an old nieghbor of mine had a 69 electra 225 . Talk about big!!!!!
I also remember when i was a kid my dad had abig A$$ 78 Buick Century with a V8 . Who needed an SUV back then? My dads car was much more spacious. Remember the early 1980's Buick regals? Those were popular cars among car thieves (chop shops) Perhaps the last of the muscle cars? Tell me what you guys think to be the most memorable Buicks and why. I also remember my aunt having a 1981 buick electra park avenue. Big A$$ car! the bench seats were like luxury couches. It was Burgundy and had reading lamps inside the back walls for rear passengers.Definitly comparable to a Lincoln town car. |

When I was a kid my buddy had a 66 Buick Skylark GS with a 401 nailhead. It was pretty much stock. His Dad was a buick collector and owned several classic Buicks, including a 65or66 Riv with a 425, a 50's LeSabre with dealer or factory AC, and an early 60s Buick special with a small, all aluminum V8. Every one of these cars were something unique and were ahead of there time.
Anyways, this is what turned me on to Buicks. I am not one of those guys who declare that one type of car is superior to all others. I dont declare that GMs are superior to Fords. What I do admire is having something different to the norm. It seems everyone has a chevy with a 350" or a ford with a 302". I think its way cooler and refreshing to have something that you dont see every day, and B.O.P. usually fit that bill. |

Re: History Of The Buick
The real history of the Buick is based on one man's vision...may he rest in peace. GM's Harley Earl.
