EGR CLeaning

What solvent/cleaner do you use to clean an EGR Valve? If i have to get the work done where should i go.

I have used a spray carburetor cleaner (Gumout) and old toothbrushes and the air compressor to clean out the throttle body passages and the head passage as well as cleaning and checking the EGR valve itself. If the valve body does not move when vacuum is applied it needs to be replaced.

thanks for the help...im guessing i will need a new gasket when i remove the EGR valve also right?

it would be best. Sometimes if you are really careful you can get away with not replacing it. They are pretty cheap at NAPA or your local parts place.
