Vac reduction/egr blockoff

I'm going to have EGR blockoff plates here within the week, iv'e been searching but can't really find everything. After the blockoff plates are installed I can take out All the hoses from the spiderweb right? Also what can I remove from the firewall? what else can i remove if there is already a MBC insalled? sorry for all the newb questions that probably have been asked before it's just kind if intimidating with all the damn vaccume hoses, just want to make sure I don't take out something I need. pics would be very helpfull if anone has any.
thanx in advance.

Re: EGR blockoff

The EGR block offs have nothing to do with the spiderweb. They just let you remove your EGR valve. You can get rid of your spiderweb by doing the vacuum reduction mod at any point you want to. There should be some instructions on stealth316

the block off plates are only like 20 bucks, and it just removes the EGR valve. You wont feel a difference, and you might get 1 hp, but its basically removing stuff that deals with emissions. It also allows 1 less thing to do anytime you have to do work in your car that involves pulling the intake plenum.

Re: EGR blockoff

You wont gain any hp at wide open throttle, because the EGR is closed at this time anyway. However, it is one less damn thing in the way to remove when taking off the intake plenum as said before, and it also keeps your intake alot cleaner...less carbon buildup.

Alright, Iv'e been reading about the vac reduction, and i'm planning on doing that now too, but iv'e got a few q's. since iv'e got mbc installed already, i can remove the stock bost solinoid, but do you just leave the harneses that go to the solinoids hanging there or what? what else can i remove besides stock boost solinoid? Also does anyone have any pics of the firewall/spiderweb area after the reduction, would be of great help. you can do van reduction without doing the egr blockoff first right?...just leave the egr solinoid on?? and One more thing, After the reduction what are my chances of still passing IL emissions? last time i passed with FLYING colors. thanks again.

You won't make more power, it's purpose is to clean up the engine bay. and also make it alot eaiser to work under there. The only way it could give you more power would be because it's eliminating more places for boost leaks to show up.

Alright Im in the middle of doing this now but have some questioins.
-Pic #1 I can rip this out and all hoses with it and cap right?

-Pic #2 The 2 with the arrows get capped?

-Pic #3 in this pic the gold fitting is my boost gauge, but i thought everyone else had their gauge spliced into the small vaccume hose right there on the plenum, is mine ok? and also if it's ok, I can just cap that nipple on the plenum right?

also all 4 solinoids on the firewall can be removed?
I think i might do some type of write up on this for anyone else with questions, because I had some trouble finding all the info I needed.
Thanks.
