prep for install of ported head

ok, gonna get a ported head put on to replace my current b16a head. Just wondering what i should get to prep for the head swap. I was thinking that anything that would help the lifetime of my setup would be good to put on now. below is what the head comes with

B16a head (ported .10)
CTR cams
SKunk2 cam gears
Skunk Dual valve springs
Crower Ti retainers

Anything you guys can think of would be great to know, the head gets swapped on friday

Re: prep for install of ported head

arp makes extremely strong bolts, every bolt in my head is ARP, love them.

Re: prep for install of ported head

oem is fine for mild HP, but you asked about upgrades to help prolong the life of your head and block, and a good after market HG, and ARP bolts will withstand a lot more abuse than OEM.

Re: prep for install of ported head

and dont forget to replace your head bolts no matter what you do, they are designed to strech a little, thats why you need to re-torque them after a couple heat cycles.

Re: prep for install of ported head

only one way to find out, dyno it. while your in there, id upgrade anyway, that way, if you keep adding power, you wont need to worry about pulling it apart to upgrade then
