Oh no.....The madness never ends!!!MORE Kits!!!
Just picked up a Veilside Fairlady Z Combat Model Ver. 2 and Ex-girlfried bought me a Tamiya Skyline R33 GT-R from Tamiya. The Veilside kit is from Fujimi and contains resin parts for the body kit components. Lots of cutting and putting to dissimilar materials. I figured if I'm gonna do so much work, I'll use the Tamiya 300ZX with a motor and go full detail.
Gonna post up pics soon if I can progress with my other half done projects. |

Here's a progress report. First picture link is the parts shot. It's a comparison between the Tamiya piece and the Fujimi Piece. The Veilside bodykit is all done in resin- in the fashion of a race car style transkit. The wheels are the from Andrew racing (Note: the wheels are not the same as the box pictures if you are planning on building this kit). The Fujimi body is wider in the Mid-section and the Tamiya is wider in the front portion.Gonna have problems with the front bumper.

The front bumper needs a bit of work as I have to widen it to fit stock Tamiya body contours. The wing and the front bumper need to be modified for Tamiya body, the side skirts will need to be lengthened and the rear bumper is near perfect. SORRY FOR THE TAPE GUYS. I like the NASCAR racing looks. http://files.automotiveforums.com/up...rtftanglst.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/up...05566assst.jpg |

Fantastic progress!
![]() Is it as simple as trimming along Tamiya's panel lines, or are you still trying to use the bodykit parts over the existing trim? |

Jay,
In one of the pics there should be one that show the bumpers and side skirts removed. If not here's another. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/468297KUT.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/up...995530KUT2.jpg |

Daggerlee,
I use the one made by Bare Metal Foil, but I just use their dental pick as I have modified the tip and curve for my preferences. It now cuts very, very thin. |

Love the choice of wheels to go with it
