Shaving door handles
can some one please give me step-by-step directions on how to shve the door handles with the weld-in filler plate! PLEASE!!!!.........THANKS A BUNCH!

weld the corners, let cool, weld down the short side, then the other, then go half way on the top, and do the other half on the bottum, then finish it, use either a mig or tig welder, grind it nice n smooth, take your time, if you cant weld/dont know, dont try it

Take handle off.
Then I would use a tube of that body panel epoxy. Then there is no chance of warping the work, and then you'll never have any rust problems there. The next day, use bondo, sand prime and paint. The biggest secret to that job is keep everything clean. Use only a light coat of bondo. Invest in quality products. |

im looking to do the same thing. when i get to that point, i will tack weld it in a few spots. when you run a full weld, it will warp the thin sheet metal.tack it in the corners and maybe top,bottom, left right centers. then bondo.if you can put the plate a little behind the opening, this way its set back, the feather in the bondo. and yes, if you cant weld or use bondo, dont do it.
