I just had my car a couple of months and it came with a new clutch already but the other guys may be able to help.

Hey i didn't know Hanes made manuals for our cars, i would have tried them, but well now i have an original mitsu manual 92-96 .
Where did you find that Hanes ?

Chris.

Re: Clutch Replacement Help

Yeah i've done it a few times, it's easy. Buy some 75W-90 gear oil for when you're done. Other than what comes in the clutch kit, you may want some all purpose hi-temp grease, you're supposed to grease the splines of the clutch and the inside of the release bearing (you should have a new one of these as well), but if you use too much then you'll ruin the clutch. I didn't use any grease the last time I did it, which was a few weeks ago (and a few months ago), I didn't use any grease. But my release bearing is plastic so it has no chance of making any noise, as opposed to metal which would need a small amount of grease to prevent squealing. I've cut my time for the whole job down to about 3 1/2 hours by myself.

Oh yeah, make sure you go get your flywheel resurfaced, it doesn't cost much and can save you a lot of trouble (by a lot of trouble I mean having to take the tranny off 3 more times as I did trying to figure out why my new clutch was slipping). If you have any questions just ask, I can more than likely answer them.

YES! as Twizted said, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you get your flywheel resurfaced. (just take it to a tranny shop, it won't be but about 20-30 bucks). if you don't resurface your flywheel, then it will wear the clutch down really fast. the flywheel surface must be flat so as to accept the flat surface of the clutch. of one of these isn't flat (flywheel), then bye-bye clutch.

Re: Clutch Replacement Help

3000ridah--> do you happen to have the 3si manual on CD?? i'd be curious as to the differences of the manual CD and this Import Manual. I kinda think the manual CD is more specific...but perhaps the Import Manual has a lot of diagrams and step-by-step procedures for everything like Hanes/Chilton
