Re: worth modding

first of all, what year/model cavi do you have? bc i know they can be fast stock, and modded they go like hell. me myself is getting a 99 4 door cavi in a cuple of weeks."first car baby!" which brings me on to my second ques, is your car modded? bc if it is that is why your friend is loosing. tell your friend to trade his in for a manual trans and just that should be enough to beat you. my father had a 2002 (i believe) manual accent and that thing was hella fast. then if he needs any mods still tell him to get a low shot of nitrous, about 50 shot should do, then change around the gear ratio and put in a low grade turbo.

Re: worth modding

lets see, we were doing from 0-70 in like a yard or two with that accent. the car only weighs about 990 pounds and has like a 135 hp, new ones, old ones were like 110 hp (i believe).

You have got to be kidding me. Even a 2005 Accent GT only has 106hp with the 1.6L DOHC motor and it weighs in at almost 2300 lbs. No way it that "hella fast" Check your specs again before making claims. The 1.5L motors that made up to 2004 were only like 90hp. Still not "hella fast" even with a manual.

Re: worth modding

well, then on exeleration then what would you call it? bc this was the first car that ever gave me a suction feeling into the seat, and i have been in a sable up to 120mph and it did not compare at all to that awakening feeling that this accent gave ya.

You need to take a ride in a real car. Depending which motor and transmission combination you have, an Accent 1/4 mile times are anywhere from a mid 17 to a high 18. That is ssssllloooowwwww. If you think a 17 second car is fast, I'd hate to see what you think after you take a ride in a real fast car.

Re: worth modding

did i say it was fast, I said on EXELERATION it had SOME go to it. Where that is the point that you get most of your gain in a drag race is exeleration. And as I have said, I have been into a hair raising situation in a vheicle, you try being in a car that has basicly all of its suspension shot out of it while doing 120mph on a highway strip swerving in and out of traffic.

You did say it was fast. Actually, you said it was "hella fast" and you did 0-70 in a yard or two. That's gotta be the fastest car in the word to hit 70mph in 6 feet. I don't understand what you are trying to say in your last post though. A drag race is a acceleration contest. So therefore, if this Accent is "sucking you into the seat" that would be acceleration. Comparing the acceleration of the Accent to other cars on market, it's one of the slowest. 120 isn't anything. I race a '69 Camaro that I have ran a 9.07 @ 148 in the 1/4 mile. If you don't believe me, check out www.agbulletracing.com There is even an in car camera video of a 9.12 1/4 pass. This thread needs to be locked now. It's pointless going on about this.
