Question 2000 Odyssey Hesitation up hills / Transmission

I was driving up some small hills and the vehicle started to hesitate. It would not continue to accelerate and if I let up off the gas it would slowly climb in speed. The transmission would not allow me to shift into D3 but it stayed in D4. The check engine light did not come on. It continued like this for some time until I was able to shut off the engine fill with gas and then start it back up. It worked fine for about 1.5 hours before it started to act funny again. I spoke with the dealership and they said that it could possibly be an EGR valve or the Transmission. I believe I disconnected the EGR valve, and the vehicle shifted great until I got off the interstate and started doing some in-town driving and then it started to hesitate again. Question to a long description is, where is the EGR valve located? It is possible I disconnected the wrong one. And secondly, would the car hesitate if the EGR valve was disconected?

Thansk for your help!!!

I think there was a recall for the egr's but hey try to change your tranny fluid it is the easiest thing to do. I change mine around every 4 oil changes. It is cheaper than a tranny.......
