changing front driveshaft u-joints

this is most defenitely not easy!

i tried the socket and c-clamp method but the c-clamp is bending. I tried melting the plastic snap rings with a bernzomatic but that failed too. I could really use some advice if anyone would be so kind.

you have to heat up the ears of the shaft all around the u joint cap intill the plastic stops comming out of the little hole or you will never get the cap out, if your benzomatic does not get it hot enough bring the shaft down to an exhaust shot and ask them if they can heat up the ears with the acetoline torch to get the plastic out, then you can press them out with the c clamp and socket or c clamp from a ball joint press or some pieces of wood a socket and fat brass punck and large mallet.

clean out the plastic with a screwdriver tip and lube the inside of ear to make installation a little easier

good luck
