Angry OIL FILTER! Help ASAP.

How in the hell do you get the oil filter off of a 1995 Cavalier? The thing is in there and surrounded by a bunch of shit that lets you get absolutely no grip or no bigger tools in there. I have a plastic oil wrench with a ratchet hole on the back, but the god damn thing slips on the filter whenever I try to loosen it up. I dont want to put my GTX in there with the old oil filter, so if someone has advice please help quick. Thanks.

Re: OIL FILTER! Help ASAP.

easy, shove any screwdriver threw that fucker and turn it.
it will make a mess and rip the old filter all to hell but you will get it off.
I have had the same problem before.

Well, I have changed the oil on both the '95 auto and manual cavaliers. I just used a oil filter wrench thingy, not sure of the exact name. It is has a round end which tightens around the filter when turned. Try buying one of those.

Re: OIL FILTER! Help ASAP.

buy yourself a band wrench and make sure you are turning the filter towards the drivers side.... and when you put the new filter on make sure you put a little bit of oil on the new gasket and you wont have that problem next time......
