VR4 v.s STI: 3rd time

leaving a friends house from everett heading south on I-5.
i spot a Sti behind me all black, those things look mean when there behind you.
so just cruising at about 65mph he comes up strong, tails me for a second(i think he was making sure i was a vr4) and then swerves around me and gets 2 lanes over to my left side.
i notice he's trying to get to an opening so i swerve around the car in front of me to the left lane and as i do so, my bov goes off.
i see him look over which really sparked his attention then finally he gets in front of me, and we kinda swerve past eachother. me to the right and him to the left with him in front.
finally we have room and he hits it, i hit it immediatley after and i'm pulling on him from the jump.
he was already half a car in front of me from the jump so when we got on it, i pulled on him so nice from 70mph-95mph i was in front of him.
but i'm running out of room, his front is at my door and this semi is in front of me.
i have to let off the gas, while the sti passes me, then get back on the gas get behind him and by this point he has 3 cars on me, but again within 3 seconds , im gaining them back. i took back 1 car in a few seconds, and then he starts slowing down. traffic is ahead of him.
so we just cruise at a normal pace and he gets off the next exit.
he looks over at me right befor he gets off(probably to give me a thumbs up) but i didnt like the way things turned out and we needed another fight. so i let the bov go off twice to let him know he's got a second fight coming

beleive me, i will see him again, and i willl officailly kill him

Re: VR4 v.s STI: 3rd time

isnt that a b!^#%

its mainly cause i've been racing during the day.

i've killed a few cars not really worth posting within the past week but nothing big

one was a 300zx N/A, and a civic, and somthine else. if the truck wanst in the way, i would have killed him far before the traffic came up.

oh well

Re: VR4 v.s STI: 3rd time

Well at least you were smart enough to let off, even if it cost you the lead. Traffic sucks, but you'll get him and wont have too much trouble if he's near stock. STIs are geared horribly for higher speeds, factor in your mods, and you should take him easily. Nice scuffle though.

Re: VR4 v.s STI: 3rd time

One time I raced a co-worker in a Jetta turbo. I was in my N/A 92' Stealth and had a major disadvantage because my tranny was dieing fast. We were on a road heading to a national park beach in the spring so the traffic was heavy and to make it worse there was only one lane in each direction. We pulled up next to eachother at a stop sort of sharing the lane on our side of the road and then took off. I had him off the line and when we hit the first bit of traffic I passed about 4 or 5 cars on the shoulder doing about 110. I was pretty far ahead of him when I pulled away back into the lane but cut over slightly too quick and the back end started to wobble. I slowed down and regained control and he caught up with me but couldn't pass me. Up ahead there was a mini van and another car comming in the other lane. I figured I could have just enough time to squeze between the van and the oncoming car and I did. When I looked back I saw that the crazy F@$# had actually followed me! I don't know how he made it and amazingly the oncoming car didn't swerve off the road. We were doing 145 and got to another car where I didn't have room to pull the same manuver and he managed to pass me when the other lane was clear. We got to a long turn in the road and I backed off because my car felt like it was about to slide out. I just went ahead and let him take it. I still don't think that it was a fair race because of my transmission though. And I am not just making excuses either because when I got out of the car there was gear oil that had somehow sprayed out of the tranny and up between the bumper and hood!

i like races like that, it leaves time for there to be a climax with the next race.
