a few dohc ZC questions.....
ok, well i sent my sohc zc head off to bullfrong for a complete head job, meanwhile for about a month i need somthing to drive, and im thinking of buying my freinds 89 hatch, its farly stock except for it being droped, and it has a dohc ZC, it also has a short ram intake, header, and a exhaust....but im course, what 1/4 times would a farly stock dohc in a 89 hatch run?, and im also wondering about the tranny, it has the hatch's SI tranny, is that better then the ones that come with the dohc ZC's?(i beleive this is the Newest version of it cuz it has the p28 ecu) so yeah, let me know
, thanks~james 1991 talon - 11.2 1/4 mile (full race car) 1993n/a300zx - 14.2 (g/f's daily driver) 1991CRX SI - ? but its a sohc with full head work, when i get it back, it sould be over 180hp out of a stock looking ZC =D and mabye a 89 civic SI (dohc zc)=D....mabye |

Re: a few dohc ZC questions.....
Most DOHC ZC's run about high 15's low 16's i believe. The si tranny is not better suited for performance than the zc tranny. The zc tranny has closer gears so it will accelerate quicker, but the SI has longer gears so can cruise at lower rpm's.
