Question 5th Gen Short Shift Kit Help

I have a 91 Gt and am not sure whether the last owner installed a short shift kit. The end of the threaded part of the shifter is 7 inches from the silver ball part. If someone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx

Re: 5th Gen Short Shift Kit Help

pmed, to tell u the truth the upper part of mine is longer than the stock one but the lower ball and joins are smaller and closer making it a shorter shifter, if i cut more off the top i bet it would be really really short

Compare the pics

Below is a link that has pics between a stock and aftermarket shifter/short throw. It also shows how to install one.
