New Anti-freeze

When did Ford start using non-silcated anti-freeze in their engines. I have a 1999 CVPI, and want to change it, but it's so brown I can't tell what it was.

Go ahead and use green. Ford even says the only difference between premium gold and green is the service intervals. You can go from gold to green but it's not reccommended going green to gold, unless it's a system where you already went gold to green. Confused yet?
