Adding factory transmission temperature guage

My silverado does not have the factory transmission temperature guage. I do a fair share of towing and hauling, and I like to make it a policy to have a trans temp guage on my tow vehicles. I'm wondering if the wiring is already in the dash, and I just need to buy the guage and plug it in, or if I need a whole instrument cluster. I've installed my own temperature guages before, but the instrument cluster has the cutout already for the guage, and I'd like a factory look if possible.

Re: Adding factory transmission temperature guage

The signal from the PCM is good all the way to the connection to the pod. If you can figure out what format the signal is in and which wires good luck. GM does not want to sell you the gauge without the whole pod. Changing the pod is 15 minutes, adding the gauge, wires, lights, and what else could get interesting. Besides, you can get the Denali black face, the Escalade Platinum outline or the Excalade white face and there is not that much cost difference. I got the Escalade platinum outline programed with mileage and hours deliverd to my door for $350. I did not want to mess with an aftermarket gauge nor the time to chase wires. Check out the company in this post:

This thread should answer a lot for you, email me if you need more info.
