better mpg

I was wondering if anyone knew a way to increase the mpg. I'm getting about 15 right now and it sucks. I have a 98 EB edition V8 AWD. Oh and does that "vortex" piece in the intake really help? Cus i'm thinking i could just make one and test that out...

Or maybe a new exhaust would help too?

any help would be appreciated.

Re: better mpg

Some people have had sucess with it and some have not. If you want better gas you can redue the exhaust to open it up for a better flow. But I would not suggest it you like the quietness of the exhaust. a larger exhaust will make that V8 rumble

Re: better mpg

thanks for the help,

i built my own tornado and it didn't do anything...either i built it wrong, but it did look good, or it's just kinda gimmiky, i dunno. Yeah, i've decided that i'll have to go with exhaust and CAI. I was having trouble finding one for the 5.0 ltr. engine...any good links?

Re: better mpg

it looks like it'd be pretty hard to build a tornadofuelsaver cuz it looks like they paid a lot of attention to the fine details and slits on that thing.. they're pretty cheap if you buy em somewhere and i know someone that is getting 18 mpg on their explorer with that thing..
