chrysler storyboards
these are rather recent, done only about two months ago from date of this post.
some backgrounds appear blank or incomplete due to the later use of photoshop to dupe various b/g info. this kept me from having to draw the same b/g over again. so, as they are in their raw state, the storyboards may appear to not make much sense. at least you can see the people and cars. all angles are invented: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: chrysler storyboards
thanks, grant. i like glen fabry. he's a brit comic book artist. he's really someone i try to emulate. he's so good, though. i am shit compared to him. i like his linear style. he does great wrinkles and shit. details. i have his comic books laying around when i am drawing people. i directly rip his ideas off when i can.
thanks again for props. check out: http://www.glennfabry.co.uk/ |

Re: chrysler storyboards
Cool link!
His work is really strong. Great painting style too. Nice traditional illustration look with a HeavyMetal bent. I see what you mean about the folds and wrinkles.

Re: chrysler storyboards
yes. i can attain to a style of my own that is a rip-off of his when i have time to take better care of the drawings. storyboarding, i'm not yet at a level to crank out people looking like his. but, then again, he doesn't storyboard in his painting/ comic book style either. i don't see how he could. he does nice sketches, though, as i have some pictures of his thumbnails.

Re: chrysler storyboards
I do see a likeness in your figures.
The biggest difference is that he must have time to noodle the hell out of his work. Probably spends many days on those covers on his site. Also looks like he is working from some strong photo reference . A crutch that you probably dont get to use. Looks like in storyboarding that you have to work from your head and make a map of what the director is thinking quickly. It has to be tough. I could never do it. |

here, look at this. i just literally did this one. no photos. only imagination. i did use a photo ref for the poodle to see how they manicured it. but the angle of the dog is not from the photo. and i had a blurred photo b/g shot of the eiffel tower. it may not be really what it looks like, but as long as it is convincing, i am happy: ![]() by the way, particularly doing hands, i use my own as reference, often with a mirror. |
