my user name says alot
hello everyone
i recently turned 18 and i don't know much about cars at all. i'm looking to buy my first car, but i'm on a really tight budget. i go to college and work a dead end crappy job for now. so i'm mainly here to learn. right now i live very close to school and work so i'm not in desperate need for a car. but it would be nice to have one a.s.a.p. for somethings. i've been looking around for a used car with private sellers, but it's hard because i suspect they think i may be a sucker because i'm young and female. i'd take a guy with me but i'm new in town and don't know many people, especially someone who knows about cars. anyway thats my story. take care |

Re: my user name says alot
Hi. I know your problem. I have a son in college and still looking to get a better car than the ol' man can provide. One quick way to find someone that does know a lot about cars is to call a Car Auction yard during the week day and ask them when their next auction is. You may see some cars that are in bad shape outside but are rarely driven inside. Talk to a buyer and find out what salvage cars go for, and how to tell if the car is any good. It is my opiniion that salvage car buyers and fixers love to talk about the cars they've fixed up and sold.
