I'm going to have fun with you my friend.... Intake Mani- good choice but one off an H.O or w41 plus a 56-60mm TB would save you $$. New clutch and fly wheel... Have you looked into SPEC? As for that spacer, take it out because they don't do jack shit unless you want to run Nitrous which allows you to to place the nozzle close without ruining an intake. Fuel rail.. For what? You are not running any sort of boost, there is no point unless you want a purdy poweder coated one thats says VENOM on it.. pointless Control Modle... rule # 1.... J-bodys cannot be chipped. While they claim they add power, its just a gimmic. Save your money... Now that i have done that i figure i talked out of spending oh atleast 600 bucks.. so lets see here... Here are some cheap power getter bolt on's... Step 1 determine wheather you want to boost your car. Some of these are not needed when boosted for a turbo. ie header, you'll need a log manifold with a flange for the turbo. CAI $200 bucks Header $200 High-flo cat-$90 Muffler $100 2.25 Exhaust pipe custom bent $300-400 Basic Nitrous Setup $600 (75 shot) Polyurethane Motor mounts $65 for upper and lower shipped. Underdrive pully & Belt $100est. JBP Performance cams.. $400 est. Port and Polish head.. Do your self or $ Shop cost. so on and so forth... things get more expensive after this...

Re: project sleeper
Gonna take a rather large 4 digit number to get "serious hp" out of a Cav motor. But good luck!

Re: project sleeper
It will be a fun car to drive, but getting alot of horsepower out of it you will need to strap on a sc or turbo and then you start getting into a lot of money. But good luck and have fun with it, thats what its all about.

Re: project sleeper
you cant reprogram the chips on cavaliers..its a myth...start with basics..intake,header,motor mounts, internals, maybe slap on a roots charger or turbo system...THEN upgrade the fuel system..your not going to need a venom fuel system if your not running a boost setup...then theres always running a dryshot of NO2...cuz wetshot is more of a hastle

Yes you can reflash the computer on a 2.4L for the GM supercharger. Those venom and other knock off moduals don't do shit.

Re: project sleeper
uhh no actually there is a company in canada that can reprogram cavalier ECU's to whatever you want. It cost 500 bucks, and afterwards you can get as many flashes as you want for free. Now after you get all your mods done, its not out of the question to have the car dyno tuned. But again that is very expensive, around 800-1000 bucks.
Listen, the stock fuel system is very efficient and can work well above the stock engine setup. You dont EVER need to change your fuel system unless your have some kind of forced induction. |
