Corvettes go 1-2 in their class at Le Mans

This is the fourth 1-2 GT1 finish they have had in five years. It was a great race to see on the Speed channel. They beat two factory Aston Martin DBR9s, one Ferrari 575 GTC, and several Ferrari 550s.

This flat tire happened again.

The pictures below are not from the race.

Re: Corvettes go 1-2 in their class at Le Mans

The heat got to the Aston's in the end I think. Corvette seemed better prepard for it. I was sat with a view in to both pits and the Aston drivers looked terrible every time they got out of the car.

As an Asron fan I have to congratulate Corvette on a great job. I thiink we pushed pretty hard, but just weren't quite there on the day. Still, Dave Richards promised the British fans he'd be back for another try next year!

It was a great race.

The DBR9 is the first factory-backed Aston Martin race car in over a dozen years.

I wish Ferrari backed their cars in racing.

The vettes had way more experience and that showed at the end.

Actually the 575 project was done with factory blessing, unlike Prodrives original (and far more sucessfull 550 project).

It would be good to see Ferrari produce a new prototype though, a next generation 333SP. Build it for LMP2 and put it up against the rumoured new Porsche prototype... well I can dream can't I?

Yes, but those Ferraris didn't have the support like the C5-R.

They had a huge crowd.

Perhaps the same could be said of the Ferrari Enzo, but Ferrari doesn't back their cars in racing these days.

I know that the Maserati MC12 is based on the Ferrari Enzo. In fact, I saw it today in the American Le Mans Series at Portland, Or.
