brake brakes bleed fluid anti-lock

Hey All,

I don't have any braking problems but, the fluid in the master cylinder looks really dark. I'm not the original owner of my 97 4.3 W Jimmy (117,000 miles) but I bet the brake fluid has never been changed.

Is this worth the time and $$?? ... just as preventive maintenance? I do have 4WD and anti-lock brakes (4wheel i think). Does this complicate things?

I've done brake pads and bled brakes before but Ive never done it on a vehicle with anti-lock brakes.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Well it's easy to just gravity bleed most of the system. Just keep opening bleeders with buckets under neath and keep pouring fresh fluid in. You won't get the ABS module flushed though without a tech 2 scanner to command the ABS valves to open up.

Thanks, that's what I thought ... I just wasn't sure with the ABS and all.
