Gen1 Taurus (1986-1991):
Front: 6.5"
Dash: 3.5" (Only with Premium/JBL systems)
Rear: 6x9" (6x8" for the JBL I think)
Subs: 6x8 drivers mounted under stock 6x8's

You mean putting 6.5"s in the dash instead of 3.5"s? Well firstly you'll never get speakers that size to fit without cutting up your dash. Second, if you don't have the Premium stereo system then the wiring probably isn't there.

Ok I'm sorry but I just don't understand what you are asking. There is no difference between "door speakers" and "dash speakers."

Well it looks like it but you might want to have a look for yourself. It *appears*, anyway, that if you don't have speakers in your dash then you do have 6x9 speakers in the back because you don't have the JBL system. In any event, it may be worthwhile for you to take things apart in back and measure yourself, but again, 6x9 is the most likely case.
