what year engine

how can i tell what year engine is in my 1/2 ton work truck.. the re was a new engine installed when i got it.. the number on the block reads.. t0706ack..

Try a Google or Yahoo search for the number on the block plus "chevy engine" or something like that. You can usually find something to help.
