Proud member of the 1/12 owner's club! (Ferrari F40) (56K Warning)

So, I've been hoping to find a Revell AG 1/12 F40 on this side of the lake for a long time now, but figured it would never happen. Everything I have heard about getting Revell AG kits over here says it is dodgy at best. Well it happened today, by shear luck, and for a really (IMO) good price!

I walked into a LHS that I'm normally disgusted in ($80 CDN for a 1/24 Ferrari Enzo) and just happened to notice this big Revell box with an F40 on it. I was surpised to see it, and figured they'd probably be asking a good $120 for it. But no!! $60 CDN, in my hands. I pounced. Let me tell you, this thing is looking sweet. And huge.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any detail up kits for it. I'd love to give this thing the full treatment. Also, if anyone has any good threads / reviews of the buildup indicating trouble spots, it'd be appreciated!

Thanks, and happy building.

I only know of the one and its for the f40 and the testarossa. It s by scale details. www.scaledetails.com Its ok, hard to work out where things go as the instructions are a list of whats there, no reference to what the pieces look like or where they should go.

My only complaint with the 1/12 F40 is the wheels and tires look way too small, can't seem to find a replacement stock set at all.

That thought crossed my mind as well, but I wonder if it is more that we are used to oversized wheels, and these ones are simply to scale.

Pictures!! (Quite big. If a mod wants to put a 56K warning on this thread, it might be a good idea)

I don't think so, hold them up in the wheel wells and then look at a pic of a real one. They just look very small. Even the pic on the side of the box they look small.

Yeah, I agree. Well, if Hiroboy has shown us anything, it's that anything is possible.

I don't think I'm going to attempt this kit until I'm a little way through my stack of other ones to do. Then I may be good enough to do door and boot openings.

I'm already thinking about making the suspension actually work, as this should be fairly easy, and doesn't necessarily have to look 'perfect'. That being said, I haven't really looked into it, so it might be harder then I'm thinking.
