96 Dakota driver door replacement ?

I have been asked to help a neighbor replace his driver door on his 96 Dakota. The metal around the door hinge has torn and has made the door very loose. His Dakota has power locks and windows.

First question - since I can hardly see the front two bolts with the door open, do we have to remove the fender or maybe the inter fender to gain access these two hinge bolts?

Second question -- The replacement door is a manual door not power door. Will we be able to convert the manual door over to power very easily?

Third question -- if the above are true, how long will it take to convert and replace the door?

Thanks, for your responses.

Re: 96 Dakota driver door replacement ?

It takes less time to place a floor jack and a block of wood under the back edge of the door when it is open and MIG weld it. I've done both my doors over a year ago and there has been no sign of reoccurance. Just make sure you raise the jack high enough to close the gap where it has torn.
