64' beetle in here? need help

Sup:
Im a 15 yr old kid trying to start modifing/restoring an old project car(64' beetle) was/is my dads but he doesnt take care of it anymore(shame!) and is really trashed and crashed(literally)!! and i really dont know much about beetles per se! so i need help!
so here it goes...

-Am i in the right forum?
-What does type 1, 2 and 3 means? are those different models?!
(those types appear at the begining of the VW forum)
-Where can i find an good online manual?
-Where can i buy parts for it(body,engine.....)?
-Does the 64 beetle have different models or is it allways the same "car"? (therefore the question about the types 1, 2 and 3)


Please I really need some knowledge about this stuff

Type 1 - Beetle
Type 2 - Bus
Type 3 - Squareback/Notchback

The Samba has some wiring info on line, but not much for manuals. Good manuals are: The complete idiots guide to keeping your vw running by John Mour, a Bentley Manual for your year model, or Haynes makes one. Mour or Bentley are best.
Parts are everywhere - cip1.com (California imports), mamotorworks.com ( Mid America Motorworks), mofoco.com (Mofoco).
