Post 96 cavalier passlock problem

think i have possible problem with theft system hate to go to gm garage was told could be ignition key cylinder ignition swicth bcm any info on at home repairs would be super about ready to get big hammer out

I believe the ignition switch is a recall part. You might not have had it replaced yet.
