Got in a few runs...

Me and my father took the Thunderbird and SS Camaro down to the Friday Street Night at Richmonda Dragway..

My First Run (Thunderbird): Paired up with a PT Cruiser. Staged..got a decent R/T, the PT Cruiser hung with me through 1st and 2nd, and I pulled like a mofo in 3rd...PT Cruiser ran 18.7 @ 72MPH with a .1002 R/T.

R/T--.3314
60FT--2.4912
330FT--6.8784
1/8ET--10.4417
1/8MPH--70.02
1/4ET--16.0406
1/4MPH--85.88

My Second Run (SS Camaro): We decided to switch up cars, and I took the SS. Paired up with an early 3rd gen Trans Am. Staged...redlighted.. ****!!! I nailed it through 1st and 2nd, just to "0WN" the T/A, then at 3rd I shut it down.. no need to waste the gas.. The T/A ran a 19.57 @ 74.55MPH (I hope he wasnt going W0T.. yikes!)

R/T-- -.0989
60FT--2.2031
330FT--5.9081
1/8ET--9.3639
1/8MPH--66.51
1/4ET--16.2156
1/4MPH--61.50

My Third Run (Thunderbird): Took out the Thunderbird this time. I let it cool down.. lined up against a modified Nova, this time I actually did a burn out, then staged.. 2nd yellow light I naled it, and the car instantly shut off with the gas pedal to the floor. WTF?! I tried to restart it with no avail, and had to be pushed off the track. Closer inspection revealed a snapped throttle cable... The car is sitting at the track over night, and first thing tomorrow morning I have to go get a new cable and repair it there..

No Time............

Fathers 1st Run (SS Camaro): Lined up against a Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T. Dad got a ****ty R/T but still got the fastest E/T... He forgot to turn the TCS off, so...... Dakota ran 15.5 @ 90.85MPH

R/T--.9183
60FT--2.2235
330FT--5.9528
1/8ET--8.9936
1/8MPH--8.9936
1/4ET--13.8684
1/4MPH--100.42

Fathers 2nd Run (Thunderbird): Lined up against a late model Mustang... you know the outcome from there... He got the fastest time Out of my car.. The Mustang ran 14.46 @ 102.16MPH

R/T--.3798
60FT--2.4469
330FT--6.8352
1/8ET--10.4001
1/8MPH--70.04
1/4ET--15.990
1/4MPH--86.12

Yes, the 60ft's SUCK..

Both cars were "lived in stock" Camaro had full tank, spare, jack, and 20lbs of misc junk from work...Thunderbird had spare, jack, work uniform, 3/4 tank, pool sticks and emergency kit in trunk, it was our first times too..

Re: Got in a few runs...

Not bad times, must have been a fun time at the track that day with all those cars. That sucks about the throttle cable, good thing it was an easy fix.

Re: Got in a few runs...

I live in Mechanicsville. Maybe 15 mins from the track. Someone from Chesepeke was there last night. One helluva drive just for a 5 hr event.

Yea, you would recognized me if you went. The Thunderbird died right infront of the stands, and I had to be pushed off the track. That sucked.

This pisses me off.
I trap 105.3 MPH and can't break into the 13's. I need to learn how to drive.

Re: Got in a few runs...

heh, now with my real job, I'll be able to purchase REAL mods. PI Lower Intake, Bullit Upper Intake, PI Cams, and PI Heads, with true dual exhaust.

Then, when I was tightning up the clamps, i dropped the screw driver inbetween the transmission and tunnel, and got it loged in there, And I cut my arm all up trying to reach it... none the less, its still stuck down in there lol...

Ouch! I know the feeling of dropping something in the car and not being able to get it out...I dropped a rachet into the engine bay of my uncles car (would have been a....92 Cavi Z24/used UC car) and I couldnt get it out, and he couldnt get it out, and he had a hell of a time getting it...

as for the runs, your old man must be pretty good, but im sure those new parts for the T-bird are gonna do some great things
