Re: Chop a Merc -progress

i think that might be to extreme, there would be no head room at all.

Re: Chop a Merc -progress

I think they can fit. It wouldn't be comfortable, but that's the sacrifices of hotrodding. lol..

haha, screw the back seat all together and make this a 2 seater. chop city! cut out about 3/4 of an inch just behind front door and hell this thing might start looking like a euro make. fun project and dont be afraid to take liberties with it!

Re: Chop a Merc -progress

Fixed the top a little. I want to add the B pillars. Needed to make a new trunk. The kit one doesn't want to fit.

Re: Chop a Merc -progress

if you plan on keeping the 4 door idea i strongly suggest you reputty the rear door lines and look at a reference picture becuase a 4 door merc didnt have space between the front and rear doors , and the rear door never went over the rear wheel well like that. Overall its a good project i like it i will definatley be keeping a close watch on this one. This is mine i built this one a year ago. Goodluck with yours there should look really nice when finished. what were u thinking of doing for a rear window?

Re: Chop a Merc -progress

Nah..I'm not keepin it 4dr anymore. I tried doin it when I first got the kit, when I alot younger. I didn't mean for the space to be there. It was just 2 diff door jams I was trying. There's not going to be much of a rear window..Like how there's barely any for the front either. But I'll have to see after I rebuild the assend. I like how you did your trunk, but I was having trouble with mine fitting. It just didn't sit right anymore. There was too huge a gap on either side.

Thanks,
Frank X.

Re: Chop a Merc -progress

This is sweet! Nice chop on it too! I think you should channel it, give the "driver" and "passengers" more room.. lol
