Re: gull-wing doors??

It would cost more then the car is worth. IMO There are a lot of reasonably priced mods that you can do for the same price as gull wing doors.

I think you want some "Lambo" or "vertical" doors.

These are "gull wing" doors.

why, how much do you think its going to cost?? im building a show car, by the way, and i have a guy to do the mods for free (hes done gull-wing doors before) all i need is to get the hardware. i just thought it would look awsome and thats why i wanted some opinions before i went ahead and did anything.

Then you also know, you would be re-locating the door hinges to the roof of the car.
Which means reinforcing the the roof to handle the stress/weight.
All custom work.
You might try looking up old "Monster Garage" episodes for some ideas.

yes, i do know what kin of work this project entails. its all in the plans. i just wanted to get a feel for what kind of reaction i would get. im not about to insult my car. i like the attention and the satisfaction of doing a good job of turning a rust bucket into an object of adoration. its a good feeling to ask me who does the work on my cars and i can tell them honestly that i do 95% of the time. they look at me like im nuts. alas, that is the reaction that i get from being a young woman. but im a born gear-head. i learnded to drive in an 89 t-bird, and thats when i fell in love with them. im on my 5th. i got a super dark blue 85 5.0 for my 18th birthday and iv pretty much been hooked. i just want to see what i can really do with it. so bear with me. do you think itll look good?? or do you think it will be a flop?? were doing paint soon. im going with that midnight blue w/light metalic flake and ghost stripes outlined in silver metalic flake(very very tiny outline lines) dual exhaust, chrome under the hood, turbo coupe hood and front bumper cover. and to top it of, those gull wing doors(maybe, or maybe not). a beast. exactly my intentions. so what do you think??

The gull wing doors would be unique and show judges like that.
I think it would look great, especially if you get the hinges & door hardware to be inconspicuous.
