Low Beams Not Working
Hi All,
I need some help again please. I have a 1988 735i. My right hand side Low Beam Stopped working at all. My Left hand side Low Beam works when ever it feels like it. I have taken the LKM out and resoldered all the dry joints. I have taken the Mustard relay out and resoldered all the dry joints. Same problem. When I check the volts on the two wires that goes to the right side buld with the light on I get 11.42v, without the bulb, but the moment I attach the bulb the volts drops to 0.01v. Anyone got any idea where I can look for the problem. Thanks in advance. Johan de Klerk (SA) |

Low Beams
A coupe of things here, for starters. First, I hope the solder took on the LKM. The bulb sockets on these cars get old and tend to come apart, I had to buy a new one for my car and then I had wire issues at the socket, they broke. I had to cut the wires and make a new connector using bullet style crimp on connectors to hook up to the socket. Also, might one of the bulbs be bad and shorting out, try changing bulbs from side to sied and see what happens.

Re: Low Beams Not Working
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I did change the bulbs around and still the same. At least after the soldering job the Left side now keeps on working. I will check the wires. Never thought of that. I will also check the connectors. Thanks again. Johan de Klerk (SA) |

Low Beams
Good idea to check the wiring, I have had issues with fog light, parking light and head light connectors and have had to cut and splice some wiring. However it all now works, keep in touch.
