I had a bad rear main oil seal. The mechanic had his lacky change it out and it still leaked at 2000 rpms, he had him change it again and now it holds oil. Now however, there is a very loud whining sound when the engine is revved. It starts a little at first idle, but goes away. Then whines when revved. It still makes the noise with the belt off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1997 Suburban Whining Noise After Oil Seal Replaced
Didn't get the torque converter back in right or damaged the pump gears in the front of the automatic transmission.
