1997 Grand Am Coolant Leaking
I noticed this morning that when I pulled out of the parking lot, there was a puddle of coolant on the ground and the low coolant sign on my car was on. Can any one tell me what are the possible problems that could cause this? I have a 97 Grand Am GT 3.1l V6 enginer.
Also, what is the most that I'd have to pay to repair my car? |

Re: 1997 Grand Am Coolant Leaking
There could be many causes, bad water pump, leaking hose, cracked radiator and etc. It depends on what the actual problem is before a cost can be determined. If it is the radiator probably $500 for a new with installation. Water pump $200, heater core $200+, hose $40, bad radiator cap $10. Hope this helps!

Re: 1997 Grand Am Coolant Leaking
Thanks a lot GTP Dad. I think my mechanic told me that there was something wrong with my water pump, but that it would last for some more time. If I am not looking at more than 500$, then I guess its not too bad.
Thanks again |

If you are losing coolant then don't wait very long to get it changed. It could go totally out when you are driving and leave you stranded on the side of the road. Good Luck!
