continual acceleration

My 2000 windstar continues to accelerate briefly after taking my foot off of the pedal. This is most noticeable in parking lots and scares the bejeevers out of me. Any ideas what to look for ?

Seems like I remember a similar post a long time ago and it was the IAC valve. That poster had the same symptoms and they almost drove through the back of their garage when it would do that unexpectedly.
