Installing dash player question

dumb question, I have a 10 disc changer in the back, is there anything preventing me from installing an additional in-dash cd player below the reciever? (there is an open slot). do I need to do anything special for this?

also who does the cheapest player installs?

in the dash I have the factory radio/cassetteplayer/controller for the 10 disc changer, I have to load cd's in the back which is nice for road trips but I'd like to have a single disc player I can load in the front so I have easier access to it while just driving around. plus it would brighten up the dash

ok so guy at best buy says if I install another player the factory one wont work cause theres only 1 set of connections or whatever, someone testify against this, its a montero sport limited and ive seen pictures of people that add another cd deck to the bottom of the dash

Re: Installing dash player question

just splice your wire connections and buy an aftermarket radio clip from wal mart. I could see best buy not wanting to do that, but you can do it. Just connect the wires to both head units, and only use one at a time.

Re: Installing dash player question

or you can junk the factory tape and buy a nice cd head unit and then add an aftermarked cd changer in the trunk. Whats stopping you from doing that? Dont mess with splicing in things. It gets way too messy, and will probably short out your vehicls wiring. stick with stock, or put aftermarket in.

Could always try a factory one. Doesn't add color but is convenient.should have exsisting wiring already. Not sure though.
