WRX vs VR4 *Pics of car!*

Well I havent really raced anyone in a while, not that I don't want to I just don't see a point most of the time because already know what I can do as I've been past the stage of mashing the gas 24/7..anyways before I even get into the race I'll let you guys know what I've got done so far:
-Full TBE
-Headers
-TurboXS UTEC (engine management)
-up-pipe

vs VR4 (TBE and up-pipe)

Well I'm coming home from work last night, feeling the nice cool air flow through the car, and come to a stop light a few blocks from my house. It's silent out and I could definately hear a nice exhaust tone coming in quick, and to my surprise I notice its a 3000gt. I was pretty impressed as here in Canada the 3000gt's are extremely rare. I wanted to see how bad I could smoke the slouches (thought it was an SL ).

So the other light turns yellow and I get ready to launch....rev her up to about 5200 and light goes green, i can hear the car spooling like mad wanting to unleash its power onto the pavement via all 4 tires then BAM!!!!! I fuckin rocket out of the whole and shift into 2nd instantly and then i hear it.....fuckin HKS SSQV and im like omfg its a vr4!

I look over to my right and he's right with me, fucking AWD launch too! My heart is beating like a freight train, this is gonna be the best race I've ever had so far I thought to myself. Note this is the first time I've raced with my newly tuned car and I'm shitting my pants not knowing i easily gained like 30whp from it. Shift at 6800 rpm PSSSSSSST, damn havent heard my bov like that in a while (usually shift with no boost), and we're off to the races in third.

At this time he's actually at about the passenger side door, and I know the VR4's pull like mad in third gear so I just keep it to the floor and pray I can keep on him, PSSSSSSSSST fourth gear, jesus christ we're going fast, but I'm keeping the same distance on it and I finally let off at 210 km/h and we havent moved an inch..........

I follow him into the gas station to give my baby some 94 octane for a job well done, I nearly shit my pants when I talk to this guy and have a seat in his hot ass car. He gives me a huge hand shake and congrats ......best night of my life!!

You need to get into some races more often. Very well done.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I usually just browse AF but now that I had this race I'll be back for more! When we talked at the gas station we pretty much had the same times, high 12s /low 13s so its a damn even race! I'll get some pics of my car when i upload them all on my site!

hmmmm i don't see a wrx with a stock turbo touching low 13's high 12's. not enough power to do that. with the stock turbo maxed it makes like 10whp less then a bone stock evo. hmmm yeah so low 13's is possible ( with a perfect driver ) but high 12's, nope.

I got pulled on by a WRX back when I had my SRT-4. The guy said he had a bunch of Cobb stuff...no nitrous...stock turbo. Considering parasitic drivetrain loss and all that, he would have to be into the 12's to be able to pull an SRT-4 w/stage 2 and exhaust from a 70mph roll. That Neon was easily a low 13 second car and likely into the 12's with better tires and a better driver.

Who's to say how long that little turbo will last, but apparently high 12's can be had with it.

Re: WRX vs VR4

i know for a fact a P n Ped stock wrx tubro will handle mid/low 12s stock one everything it can handle, I can handle 13.0 right now, and the vr4 a 13.1? all i know it was a really close n crazy race and Im definately pushing my stock turbo to the max as it is, upgraind turbo is obviously my next step

very awesome race, yeah post more.

You've written this story very simple but yet so very effective. very nicely written.

My buddys dad has a VR4 and it is indeed a nice sound that comes off that motor. But a stock VR4 that doenst race much does get alot of clutch wear when it's raced by the son of the owner.

I can't stand that smell when it keeps hanging around the parking lot.
