Lack of power
Ok, I have a 99 Sebring Convertible which has issues. For the past 6 months or so, I don't seem to have as much power as I used to, esecially at low RPM's. Once I'm on the highway, it's not as bad, but still noticeable that i don't accelerate as i used to.
I brought it to the dealership, and they said I needed a tune-up and a new catalytic converter. Being that I had a tuneup recently, from my regular mechanic, I brought it to him. He tested my cat and he said he really didn't think that was the issue. I'm thinking about a third opinion, but has this happened to anyone, or does anyone have any ideas? I don't feel like spedning a grand to get this crap taken care of only to find out that it wasn't the issue. |

could be a pretty big range of problems. take it to your trusted mechanic and have him check it out. my dad has this car and it has been nothing but trouble.

Re: Lack of power
if you had a bad cat, you'd have a top speed of 30 MPH. Have you had your timing belt done recently? Because if you had and whoever worked on it might have knocked a tooth out of time and thus the sluggish acceleration.
