Advice for my custom swaybar brackets?

Hey guys,

Brief History (skip if you want):
Back in the day, I bought lots of ricer mods before I knew better. The worst offenders are the Injen intake and Greddy intercooler pipes. Gradually I'm becomming less a ricer *tear*, and buying better parts. One of the first parts I bought for my car, before I knew better, were 19mm Suspension Techniques sway bars.

The problem:
ST sways are designed to work with stock exhaust. They intersect the same area that 3" exhaust does. The solution, as I've heard on tooners, is to make custom brackets that attach the sway bar an inch and a half lower than stock, so that it actually fits under the exhaust. While the solution on tooners was mentioned, there was nothing written on how to do it. I posted the question on the board and had no responses.

This is in desperate need to pictures, but let me explain as best as I can. The rear sway is connected by: (1) a sway bar link near the shock/spring on either wheel, and (2) two 14mm screws, one an inch above the other, on both sides of the car, mounted to the frame. To the best of my understanding, you need to make an extensions for each of the sway bars links, and each of the two sets of 14mm screws.

What will work for this job? Thick metal strips, a few inches long, with new holes drilled and threaded. Is that it? There's quite a bit of force on the sways in corners, and I plan on autocrossing. I'm worried that my wack extensions won't cut it. Any advice is welcome, even bad advice. Good is preferrable

My other option is to buy what I would have bought in the first place were I not a ricer-- RM sways. They're thicker, tougher, and designed to work with both stock and aftermarket exhaust. I'd just rather not plunk down 300 dollars that could be used to buy a camera to help you help me with future problems

I can take pictures with a disposable camera and see if I can get the CD disk from RiteAid, to post the pictures online, if that would help.

Thanks a bunch.
