High INTAKE AIR TEMP
I recently replaced the EGR valve after a code appered and the check engine light came on.A few months later the check engine light came back on and it now tells me High Intake Air temp ,can anyone tell me wht could be causing this problem ?? I am also have a surging problem like other owners of this type of vehicle and am lost as to what is causing that to happen.I have recently replaced the water pump and did a complete tun up on the engine and still the car seems to run like garbage.

Re: High INTAKE AIR TEMP
Your Intake Air temperature sensor is located in the bottom of the air filter box (looks like a spark plug). If water gets in there (like driving thru a puddle) it can short the sensor out. Your car will idle like crap with it shorted out and may run just so so. The sensor is used by the ECM to deturmine how much gas to mix with the air coming in. When it's shorted out, the computer will use a default temperature value. $10 part.

I found the sensor unplugged and reconnected the sensor and the code cleared, now I am getting a code of running to lean. Is it possible the sensor is bad??

Re: High INTAKE AIR TEMP
I would suggest that you spend $10 and then see if it runs any better.

I replaced the sensor and the car runs somewhat better, but I also found a vac line that was unhooked, thatwas causing the ac not to work form the dash vents it only worked from around the windshield.I am still having surging issues not sure what to do now.
